Collected Poems (Ber Pomeranc)
Ber Pomeranc (1901-1942) published two poetry books in Hebrew in the 1930s in Poland. Pomeranc, who perished in the Holocaust, was forgotten for many years, until a new interest in his poetry sparked in the mid 1960s.
This edition, edited by David Weinfeld, includes Pomeranc's poems which were published in his lifetime, as well as other poems, translations and letters which attest to Pomeranc's hardships in Warsaw, and the state of Hebrew literature there on the eve of WW II.
David Weinfeld's comprehensive epilogue expands our understanding of pomeranc's poetry, and its contemporary Jewish and Hebrew literature of his time.
